We have recently been informed that a brand new feature is on its way to PlayStation 3 it is the ability to save game data onto a “cloud”.
In laymen’s terms this means instead of storing your game data onto your PlayStation’s hard drive, you can upload your game data onto a remote server. It is not just useful for saving space on your hard disk but it is also it gives you the ability to access your game data elsewhere; for example at a friend’s house, by just downloading it from the sever.
But all good things have some sort of catch; it will only be available to paying PlayStation Plus customers. There is also another down side to it because using this “online saving” feature, it “will allow save data with the copy prohibited attribute to be copied into the online storage” developers are able to dismiss there games from having this feature should there a problem with it.
This brand new feature will be added to the PS3’s 3.60 firmware update. Keep your eye open for the latest updates.
