When Minecraft entered its beta a few weeks ago, the multiplayer mode received the largest overhaul. With working health and server side inventory tracking, Minecraft has quickly gone from a simple creative building game to a multiplayer survival game.
Keeping with the quasi-realism that Minecraft is renowned for, friendly fire was a logical step. With friendly fire comes the ability for PvP, fort wars where two teams fight to destroy each other’s bases and even trying to survive in a harsh zombie strewn wasteland without accidentally chopping your friend’s head off.
One of the first mods out of the gate that shows the PvP in Minecraft is the simply titled Halocraft created by minecraft modder SidolaTehNerd. With a recreation of the classic map Lockdown and working gun, this modification to Minecraft is a far departure from the classic hack and slash survival Beta.
