In a statement posted on the Lodestone FFXIV player website it was announced that the PS3 version of the game will be delayed.
Square-Enix CEO Yoichi Wada made the announcement regarding that the game will not meet it’s originally announced March 2011 release.
Here’s the full statement regarding the delay:
Regarding the PlayStation 3, it is not our wish to release a simple conversion of the Windows version in its current state, but rather an update that includes all the improvements we have planned. For that reason, we have made the difficult decision to delay the release of the PlayStation 3 version beyond the originally announced date of March 2011.
It looks as if there have been a major change in staff helming the game too with Hiromichi Tanaka stepping down as the game’s producer and being replaced with Naoki Yoshida.
