As we reported yesterday, the first downloadable map pack for Call of Duty: Black Ops is coming on February 1st and Activision confirmed it today via the official press release.
First Strike is the first timed-exclusive downloadable content for Call of Duty: Black Ops on the Xbox 360. The DLC will feature four multiplayer map packs that are heavily inspired from the main campaign mode and an all new Zombie mode map called Ascension as well. The new map pack names are; Berlin Wall, Discovery, Stadium and Kowloon.
Expect the map pack’s price to be at least 1200 Microsoft Points. More information will be available as we get closer to February 1st.

December 21, 2010 at 12:09 PMNot buying it. It’s a frikin waste of money. The game is stupid, and Microsoft is blowing money out their buttholes again trying to make it look like they’re better.. NO THANKS.

December 21, 2010 at 12:11 PMThey should be working on fixing the game’s endless problems… not wasting time making stupid overpriced maps packs.

December 21, 2010 at 7:58 PMI’ll get it, the new settings sound good. But think for that price there should be something else, maybe some more playercard emblem pieces or weapon camo’s.

December 21, 2010 at 9:57 PMI am a ps3 owner and will not buy the map packs for Black Oops. I think by the end of this contract they signed with MS they will be regretting alienating the PS3 players. By the time I can download the map pack I’ll be playing Killzone 3 and not sure if I’ll even get back to Black Oops. The multiplayer is a joke from getting disconnected to waiting times for matchmaking. Uncharted 3 releases near the next COD release and I am seriously considering skipping the next installment entirely.

December 22, 2010 at 7:46 AMclearly you guys have never played Black Ops because it is a great game and the reason you cant find a match isnt because of the game its because your playing on a cheap console made bye china men, and as far as the dude saying microsoft is blowing money outta there buttholes they did not make the game idiot Activision and treyarch did, so if your gonna rag a game title find a legitimate reason. im sure a million people around the world who play the game arent wrong about how great it is and 10 bucks isnt to much money to spend to bring new life into a already great game! people get the map pack cause its going to be sweet and there are plenty enough damn gun camos grow up dudes..

December 22, 2010 at 8:34 PMWell I’ve had my “cheap ass console” since it was launched in 2006. On my other console (360) I’ve had to replace it 3 times. So for multi platform games I purchase on PS3. Nothing sucks more than having your console die on you and being w/out for as much as seven weeks. My xbox is for Halo and Gears among other exclusives. To promote the 360 while saying the PS3 is cheap is just plain stupid any fanboy will admit that the 360 sucks when it comes to reliability and the “cheapness” factor. That being said I love my 360 but I recognize it’s shortcomings so I purchase games like Black Ops for the PS3. While you’re waiting for MS to send back your busted xbox, I’ll be playing the game on my ps3.

December 22, 2010 at 8:47 PMMark my words. In the near future Activision will introduce subscription based multiplayer for COD games. They realize that they can throw anything out there with COD in the title and people will buy it. Much like Nintendo has been doing with Mario for 20 years. Next thing you know you’ll be paying $60 for the game and $10-$15 per month to play online. They’ve thrown out hints within the last year that they’re looking at it. $15 for maps is insane. There are a ton of full games on XBL and PSN that I can download for that price. Look at the For $60 you get single player mode and 14 maps. So somehow they can create that much content for a value of $60 but to add five new maps they need $15? The numbers don’t make sense. You guys are idiots if you buy it. If so, I’ve got some ocean front property in Nebraska that I’d like to sell you.

January 31, 2011 at 7:59 AMPoint is 1200 MS points is chump change to most people, so who cares, I’ll be buying it the second it’s available.
