Call of Duty: Black Ops will once again offer players four levels of difficulty but this time around player won’t be stuck on hard missions. While players will pick at the beginning of the campaign from Recruit, Regular, Hardened or Veteran; Treyarch have added in a new option which allows players to lower the difficulty at any time.
It is currently unknown how this will affect the way the game works out what difficulty players have completed the game on, but expect it to be the lowest players put it down to. This could possibly open up a Veteran glitch, allowing players to play on Recruit until close to the end, raise the difficulty and it appears that have completed the campaign on Veteran.
Let’s hope it doesn’t cause a wave of people completing the game on veteran via a cheat when the game is released on November 9th.

November 2, 2010 at 11:17 PMYou do realize Treyarch probably made it so that you couldn’t raise the difficulty without having to restart the campaign, right?

November 2, 2010 at 11:31 PMI’m going to assume it’s like the past Call of Duty games where when you go into Mission Select it tells you what level of difficulty you completed the mission on. I’m assuming that if you don’t have every mission completed on Veteran, then you won’t get credit for beating the game on Veteran.

November 3, 2010 at 4:57 AMhey guys,, like others have said before me this is not a new feature to Call of Duty. infact i recently re-played through CoD: WaW and the feature mentioned is also present there. So maybe Treyarch did introduce this as a new feature but in their previous game first :P ..

December 13, 2010 at 5:10 PMAll you have to do is go to mission select and start from the level that you lowered the difficulty. This will overwrite any progress you have made and start from that point.
