EA has finally given in to the complainers about the use of the Taliban in their upcoming title Medal of Honor. The debate has been raging whether it was right or wrong to include the Taliban in the title, for a while between the team at EA and both the press and the public.
Greg Goodrich from EA says the team has reacted from the concerns and has decided “to rename the opposing team in Medal of Honor multiplayer from Taliban to Opposing Force.”
This is a major backing down by EA, especially after some members of the armed force backed them. Is this the sign that minorities outside gaming will start to effect more and more games? Let’s hope not!
