One of the biggest PlayStation 3 news to come out of the Tokyo Game Show so far is the remakes of both Ico and Shadow of the Colossus. The developer Fumito Ueda said he is personally supervising the remakes although it is a completely different development company that is handling it. While not mentioning their name or the reason why he isn’t handling the remakes himself, it seems pretty obvious that it is to have maximum focus on the upcoming The Last Guardian.
Ueda stated that the remakes would be from the Japanese and European versions not the American version and would both have 30 frames per second. For those with a 3D TV sitting around you’ll be interested to know both remakes will be 3D compatible. He later mentioned “ICO’s 3D is good, but when Shadow of the Colossus becomes 3D, its true power really emerges.”
With the two remakes having seperate but unannounced release dates in Japan expect the same two releases world wide unless a bundle is made for a special edition of The Last Guardian.
