The much hyped game from developer Ninja Theory, Enslaved, sneaked onto the EU PSN stores this week. Unfortunately US PSN users will have to wait until the 21st to have a proper taste of the developers first forray into the multi-platform circuit. Xbox 360 players will have to wait a little while longer until the PS3 exclusive demo window is over.
The demo puts you smack bang into the action as Monkey, the gruff oaf with which you use to try and escape the prison ship you begin on. After your soon-to-be partner in high adventure, Trip, malfunctions the holding cells, you are free to chase her down and in between, get to know how to work your agile character.
Graphically this game is quite outstanding, considering its forebears was Heavenly Sword, the brilliantly crafted PS3 exclusive about a warrior woman entrusted with a sacred sword. Ninja Theory have already stated the fighting engine will be employed within Enslaved and its evident as soon as you get hold of your main weapon.
So when you get the chance, download the demo and take on the ride that is Enslaved. I found many parts in the quite lengthy playthrough to be very well done, both in story tension and art style. Coming out October 5th in the US and October 8th in Europe, we will have to see if Ninja Theory’s new IP will take hold…and enslave you.
