Right before I start I am going to put all my prejudices of Gears of War behind me for this. Gears of War 2 was a great title but their were some majoy things that needed sorting out. So there are five things Epic Games need to do for Gears of War 3, to gain credit with me and these things are;

Improved Online
Players occasionally join online games on Gears of War 2 which get prematurely interrupted by loss of connection or massive lag, which effects a wide majority of the average GoW2 gamers; accept if you live in the United States which is closer to the main severs, so they have no lag what so ever. So in GoW3 Epic Games really needs to increase the amount of servers so US and English gamers can play uninterrupted. Apart from the servers and the laggy issues matchmaking is another subject that always seems to creep up on my list, there is no doubt when you get into a game, the online play is brilliant (if it isn’t a lag based game) but the time it takes for you to get in a game is. Think of the time it took the create the solar system…then double it and you are about there, if they can speed up matchmaking gamers might begin to enjoy playing it.
Proper Patching
Now to be truly honestly I have never came across one of these but they seem to be a big hit in internet forums. This is what they do; they give the people using them the ability the make everyone else in the game lag unabling them to move or shoot which would get a little bit annoying eventually. All it would take is a proper patch to stop how ever these lag switch players hack the game and everyone would be able to enjoy the online a lot more.
The XP/Levelling System
The system where players get ranked down for not doing well in a game really tires; because if a decent player gets put into a game and their teammates are well, lets just say beginners and the player ends up having to take on the entire enemy team on their own and if they fail, the player will get ranked down. Not to mention joining a laggy and or hacked game which often means losing thus your rank will decrease.
Destructible Environments
It has been done on Battlefield Bad Company and also I’ve heard Black Ops, a lot of gamers would like to see Epic games include destructible environments because it would just add that sense of realism. The environment they have on GoW2 is not that good, a player can blow up a car and it just looks exactly the same but black. I would love to see car parts flying all over the map and if you are one of the lucky people to own a 3D TV it would be amazing.
Improve Co-op
More than 2 player co-op with a drop in and out system, this would be an impressive feature because you just need those 2 extra players. Sometimes when you get halfway through a level and the other player leaves, you must attempt to finish it alone. If you cannot complete the rest without him/her what can you do? Invite another player of course. That is why this feature would really stand out in GoW3. Also not many games have the drop in and out feature so this may pay dividends, take note Epic games.
There you have it, now to Just to bring my prejudice back into the equation. I personally will not buy Gears of War 3 at the end of the day unless Epic Games make at least some of these improvements. If they don’t I would much rather spend my money on pre-ordering Call of Duty Black Ops or Halo Reach. But however don’t get me wrong I’m sure GoW3 will be a brilliant game even without this for people that enjoy the Gears of War series but even you would benefit from these improvements.
