Following the announcement of the price increase of the Xbox Live Gold Subscription this Fall, Microsoft is offering a very cheap Xbox Live Gold Subscription for just $1.
Yes, you heard it right! For only $1, players are able to obtain a Xbox Live Gold Membership for just one month. After the membership expires, it will automatically renew to its regular monthly price. For $1, that’s cheap value of a month’s worth of online gaming.
The Xbox Live increases its subscription fees beginning this November 1st. Take advantage of the cheap $40 subscription while it still lasts. To take advantage of this sweet deal, head over to your Xbox 360 dashboard.

August 30, 2010 at 7:39 PMCareful with this! I got into this offer two months agoa (europe here) and now I regret it. Sure they give you a month for 1 buck but then you need to cancel the automatic renewal otherwise they’ll charge directly your credit card. And you can’t cancel it on the website, you need to call the assistance and that rarely works. My account is now banned until I pay my last month, all due to this promotion=/

August 30, 2010 at 8:36 PMJoel is right: Microsoft wants your credit card number and will keep renewing your membership on that credit card unless you actually call to cancel. And if your credit card expires and they try to renew, your account will be disabled because you didn’t pay and this means hell for you…
In other words, it’s best to pass on those offers and “pay” you gold subscription with pre-paid cards bought in stores… The way Microsoft handles credit card paid subscription should be illegal (auto-renewal unless you call) but it’s not… yet…

August 30, 2010 at 8:41 PMJust to make things clearer, don’t think that when you stop paying with your credit card, you revert to silver. It’s not what happens. Instead, Microsoft disables your account because they consider you owe them money from this auto-renewal.

August 31, 2010 at 7:57 AMThis deal has been around for over 6 months, because I did it myself then. Make sure you turn “auto renewal” OFF though.

It’s only for 1month to get you started for Gold Memersbhip, after that you will be charged the normal price, even though you want another month for $1 which is not possible.
