Deus Ex is one of the most revered franchises in recent memory, even if one of its two entries was considered a flop. The first entry in the series, released in 2000, was an action role-playing game which garnered immense praise and commercial success on the PC (and was eventually ported to the PS2). Its successor, Invisible War, was met with tepid critical review and harsh support from fans, resulting in its commercial failure. Following Ion Storm’s closure, the IP found its way to Square Enix by way of Eidos; now, ten years after the original, we get our first genuine peek at what to expect. The game has been tentatively scheduled for early 2011 and will release on the PC, PS3, and Xbox 360. I’ll leave the analysis and speculation to you…once you’re able to think properly, that is.
