For anyone wanting to get rid of their PlayStation 3, old or the new slim ones, GameStop is offering a great value for the system that you will not want to miss.
By trading in a PS3 with one controller and the AV cables, GameStop will offer you a big $200 bucks (store credit). It doesn’t matter if you have the fat or the slim PS3s. The store will gladly give you a store credit of $200 regardless of what model. Just make sure it works though!
Trading it towards something else is a great idea for this deal. Don’t miss it! It only last until July 18th.

June 29, 2010 at 11:39 PMIf yours happens to be defective, you would be getting in the ballpark of $140-160 depending on which model of the system you have (the refurbishing fee is different for each model). Just in case anyone was wondering.

June 30, 2010 at 3:18 AMI was actually considering this deal but then I realized. I have 4 USB slots, backwards compatibility, and memory card slots. Why would I want to trade that for only $200 and get a lesser version of the PS3? But it’s an alright deal for those looking to get something else, I guess.

June 30, 2010 at 10:11 AMWho in their right mind would want to trade in a ps3 for a store credit? Crackheads wouldn’t do that , so why would any gamer?

June 30, 2010 at 11:09 AMi have an older version of the ps3 with all the stuff that the new ones dont have and paid 600. now 200 isnt bad at all considering how gamestop likes to screw u on trade ins but i wouldnt buy anything but a ps3 so theres no point in it for me.
and store credit thats bs… well u could buy 200 worth of stuff go to a different gamestop and return it…lol

June 30, 2010 at 4:41 PMActually I traded my defective in last weekend and used the credit towards a replacement. They give you $90 store cred for any defective PS3

June 30, 2010 at 5:15 PMThe obvious explanation for this is that Gamestop has been having a hard time keeping PS3 in stock for quite some time. This is an alternate way to increase their inventory of systems for sale even if they are used.
