Almost two weeks from today, fans who enjoyed Crackdown will be able to play the sequel to the award winning game that was released on the Xbox 360 in 2007. Starting tomorrow, a pubic demo of Crackdown 2 will be made available for anyone who has access to Xbox LIVE. The demo will allow players to play the game for up to thirty minutes before the demo ends.
For gamers who will be playing the demo and finishing the certain task, up to 100 Gamerscore will be awarded to anyone who will be buying the final game on June 29th. I played the original Crackdown, but the sequel has not impressed me that much . Crackdown 2 plays exactly like the first one. The graphics have not improved and the gameplay is still the same. Based on the demo that will be made public by tomorrow, players can expect run and gun. In the map that will be available, players will be asked to eliminate all hostiles and call for an air support. Once that mission is done, head to the next one and do the same thing.
The Crackdown 2 demo can get very chaotic. Gunning down enemies is easy as the game offers an auto-aim feature. There is now no need to stay still and aim. Anyone can just run, gun, and shoot enemies without the any worries of missing your targets. I myself think that this is a let down and takes away the challenge into the game. From the thirty minutes of game time that I spent, all I did was the same thing and I kind of regretted wasting thirty minutes playing it.
For fans who played the original Crackdown and totally fell in love with it, the sequel is something you might be looking forward to play. From the demo, I didn’t like it but we’ll see when the game comes out pretty soon. Check back with us near the release date of the game for our review. Don’t forget to try out the demo yourself on June 21st for a chance to try out and earn an extra 100 achievement points if the player chooses to purchase the game after playing the demo.

June 21, 2010 at 3:43 AMI wouldn’t base you judgement on one persons opinion. Many other first impressions and demo impressions have said the game is addictive and most important of all a blast to play. I still have it pre-ordered and will be downloading the demo when I get home from mt girlfriends here in a bit. I hope they upload new demos at midnight.

June 22, 2010 at 10:42 AMI just cancelled my pre-order after playing the demo last night. I played the first Crackdown and had high hopes for v2 but it was not to be. Sub-par graphics and repetitive gameplay.

June 29, 2010 at 8:52 PMDont forget the main fun of Crackdown is not in the missions. Its the fact that you can jump around and do whatever. In the demo i did the first mission, got bored and ran off into the city. Then things picked up when the freaks came out. I mean i just sat on a building and watched as 5 Cell members sorrounded by parked cars tried to fight off the Freaks. So i look forward to hopping into my helicopter and screwing around. I wont do missions until i level up all the way. So Crackdown 2 is a definite buy!
