SCEA announces today the PlayStation Protection Plan, an extended service offer for the PS3 and PSP systems. With the new protection plans for the PS3 and PSP, owners in the United States can purchase an extended warranty service plan of one or two years that begins after the one-year manufacturer’s limited warranty expires. As for the PSP owners, they can choose the Accidental Damage Plan, which adds a peace of mind to consumers who are worried about a cracked screen or in the event of an unexpected drop.
The pricing of the protection plan is at a low price of a one PS3 game. For either $49.99 (1 year) or $59.99 (2 years), consumers will have a peace of mind to whatever happens on their PS3 or PS3. The low price will cover all shipping charges and repairs which are performed by a trained technician using official parts. The plan will be available begininng this month and will have the following price:
* PS3 – 1-year extension ($49.99) or 2-year extension ($59.99)
* PSP – 1-year extension ($29.99) or 2-year extension ($39.99)
* PSP with Accidental Damage – 1-year extension ($39.99) or 2-year extension ($49.99)
If you are still covered under the one year manufacturer warranty, you will be eligible to sign up for this plan. For more information, give SCEA a call at 1-866-716-7669.
