In the recent interview from Famitsu with Sakaguchi in regards to the upcoming E3 Event in North America, the father of Final Fantasy has said that the Xbox 360 will be big at this year’s E3.
Ever since Sakaguchi left Square-Enix and formed his own studio, he has been a Microsoft supporter as his most recent titles are exclusively the Xbox 360 platform; Lost Odyssey and Blue Dragon. With E3 underway in just six weeks, Famitsu asked Sakaguchi some questions as to what he thinks on what Microsoft has in store for gamers out there who own a Xbox 360.
Famitsu asked him his thoughts on Project Natal and he has very high hopes for Microsoft’s answer to the Wii. He described Natal has having “some strange sensation of touch” and that game developers can unleash more power and creativity with their games using Natal.
He goes on to say that it will “change the way we play games” and together with the traditional controller “Natal can spread the joy of the game”.
He did not shed more details on the official release date of Natal as he does not know either. He said to wait until the official announcement is released.
He further talks about Xbox 360 bundles that will be releasing in Japan including the new Xbox 360 Elite Value Pack with Lost Planet 2.
Sakaguchi seems pleased as to what Microsoft has accomplished thus far in 2010. With the release of the Game Room, the USB Mass Storage Flash Drive option, and with Natal coming this fall, he is confident that Microsoft will succeed.
