According to a report from Famitsu, the PlayStation 3 has sold over five million units since it was launched in November 2006. To be precise, the PlayStation 3 has sold 5,001,598 units as of April 11th. Thanks to games such as Final Fantasy XIII, Yakuza 4, and Metal Gear Solid 4, it helped the PlayStation 3 sell a lot of consoles throughout those three years.
As for the best selling software of the PlayStation 3, Final Fantasy XIII has sold 1,883,828 units since it was released in December. Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns of the Patriots sold at 706,461 units while Yakuza 4 is at 526,093 units sold. “Long live the PS3!” is what I will have to say!
