Starting right now the support for the original Xbox LIVE service will end permanently. This means online support for original Xbox titles will end forever. You can no longer play an online game of Halo or Halo 2. The move also means Xbox Arcade games that were bought for the Xbox 360 will no longer have online play either.
It is not all bad new however, as you can obviously still play original Xbox games in offline modes. Players who still play on the original Xbox LIVE service will be compensated by receiving 400 MS points and 3 months of free Xbox LIVE for the Xbox 360.
Xbox LIVE started in 2002 and it was enjoyed by many gamers over those eight years. This may be sad news to some but at least you can still play Xbox 360 games online.
