The Executive Producer of NieR, Yosuke Saito has revealed in some interviews that he and his team are working on interesting ideas for downloadable content for the game.
He did not give any further information regarding the content, however he did say that the team immediately started work on the downloadable content after they finished the main game. This could mean we can see the extra content much earlier than expected.
The team also spent considerable amount of time on translating the game for different countries. They wanted complete all the production of the game simultaneously as normally in Japanese games the Japanese version is completed first.
The two NieR titles are scheduled for release this April 2010.
