In this week’s issue of Famitsu, SNK Playmore has revealed Neo Geo Heroes: Ultimate Shooting, a new vertical shooter for the PSP. The magazine also states that the game will include a full port of King of Fighters Sky Stage released for the arcades and Xbox Live Arcade as one of its play modes.
While Sky Stage focused mainly on King of Fighters characters, Ultimate Shooting will feature several characters from a variety of popular Neo Geo classics. Fan favorites such as Mai Shiranui (Fatal Fury), Terry Bogard (Fatal Fury), Marco Rossi (Metal Slug), Akari Ichijo (Last Blade) and Iroha (Samurai Showdown VI) among others have been confirmed to appear in the character roster. Aside from the previously mentioned Sky Stage Mode, Ultimate Shooting will also feature Story, Challenge, Multiplayer, and Museum modes. Challenge Mode is described to include two sub modes: Survival Mode which is basically boss-rush and Subject Mode which is an objective based mode that rewards players with badges to collect.
Neo Geo Heroes: Ultimate Shooting is scheduled to hit Japan this July. No word on a possible North American version as of this time, but we’ll be sure to keep you updated as more details arrive.
