Jack Tretton, Sony’s America President and CEO has said on the PlayStation Blog that 2009 has been the best year yet for the PlayStation 3 brand. Even though in the midst of an economic downturn the success of games such as Uncharted 2 helped the PlayStation 3 become more competitive with the Wii and Xbox 360.
He stated that spending on PlayStation 3 software was up by more than 15% in the UK, the US and Japan. The company’s most successful title was Uncharted 2 which managed to exceed initial company expectations to sell just under 3 million units worldwide.

We’re also bringing groundbreaking technology to the masses with the launches of 3D gaming and the new motion controller later this year.”
