The new Legend of Zelda for the Nintendo Wii was confirmed to be released in Late 2010 by Satoru Iwata in the Japanese newspaper the Asahi Shimbun. He also mentioned a DS sequel.
The next release in the Zelda franchise is set for release on the Wii and Nintendo have said that it will change the face of Zelda. In fact, the reason Nintendo didn’t show off the game at E3 last year was because they wanted to focus more on the game itself than something to appeas the public. This, I think, shows that the title will be something special. As mentioned earlier, it is set for release in Late 2010, although it is not sure if this applies to all regions.
Iwata also mentioned a DS successor that will have “highly detailed graphics, and it will be necessary to have a sensor with the ability to read the movements of people playing”. No other news on any other DS Zelda in production so soon is apparant, but if it’s true expect to hear something on the title at a future gaming event, such as the most likely, the Electronic Entertainment Expo (E3).
