I’m sure most of you Pokémon Trainers out there have guessed the innermost secrets of the Pokéwalker since day one, but it never hurt to be sure of everything.
The Pokéwalker is like a Pokémon-themed version of the pedometer that came with Walk With Me. You’ll be able to wirelessly transfer any one of your Pokémon from one of the two games to the new peripheral before putting it in your pocket as you walk around.
As you walk around in real life, your Pokémon will be walking around virtual routes and earning watts.
These watts are used within the Pokéwalker to encounter and catch wild Pokémon or search for hidden items. They can also be transferred into Pokémon HeartGold and SoulSilver to unlock new routes. There are even special versions of certain Pokémon that can only be found within routes on the Pokéwalker.
The Pokémon in the Pokéwalker will also gain experience points as the player walks around, and can even go up one level when they are transferred back into the game. You can also can wirelessly connect two Pokéwalkers to trade items.
The Pokéwalker is set to come bundled with the latest releases in the Pokémon franchises, HeartGold Version and SoulSilver Version, when they are released on March 14. It seems as if Ninendo’s plan to make the world fit and milk them dry of cash is working. However, this will definitely add to the experience, far from lessen it (Unless you don’t like exercise that it!)!
