We’re a week away from the highly anticipated Final Fantasy XIII landing in the Land of the Rising Sun. We’ve seen the score that Final Fantasy XIII received in the recent issue of Famitsu magazine; an almost perfect 39/40. Aside from the explanation on why FFXIII received that score, we have found some interesting information for the people who love earning trophies and having a difficulty in beating bosses!
As you all know, Final Fantasy XIII has a Trophy support. According to the interview with the developer of the game, all Bronze Trophies can be achieved by just going through the storyline. As for the other trophies such as Gold, there will be conditions that you have to do in order to get it; some requiring quite a lot of effort!
Unlocking a specific trophy in the game not only shows on your gamercard, but it unlocks a theme that you can use on your Cross Xross Media Bar. The themes vary from character themes to beautiful backgrounds of the game. It is still not confirmed whether this applies to the XBOX 360 version as well. Stay tuned to JPS for more info as it becomes available.
Another feature Final Fantasy XIII offers is the ability to restart the battle whenever you wish. If you think you encountered a very difficult boss, you are able to do Battle Restart and go to the part before you encounter the boss. Pretty neat feature if you are stuck in a boss fight.
Check back with us next week for full coverage of Final Fantasy XIII.

December 10, 2009 at 1:02 AMHello Jon,
Just wanted to let you know that “Cross Media Bar” is actually supposed to be “Xross Media Bar” (XMB). A minor mistake, but one made among many, so no worries.
Have a good day!

December 10, 2009 at 7:03 AMPHEW! You don’t want to know how many times I’ve had to start a new game because I’ve been stuck on boss fights in previous FF games! At least 100! 60 hour story line with this feature? I may do it in 100 hours! :~ I’ve only owned 7,9,10,12 but I’ve only completed 10 and 12 and they took me about 100 hours each! I only got FF7 when it was re-released on PS3 and I doubt I’m even 1/100 of the way through yet! But it is hard to keep interest when Fallout 3 and Oblivion are sitting on my ledge. Even though it was my aim to complete 7 before 13 is released I doubt I’ll get anywhere near close to finishing it! But as I said, with this feature I’ll have a chance of completing it!
