In a recent interview with Game Watch, Hiromichi Tanaka, director of Final Fantasy XIV, talked a bit about the eventual beta. The beta will be PC only, and as usual, will be a closed beta with a limit of 10,000 people to start. Tanaka however also said that it would eventually lead into an open beta, most likely around summer of next year. So for anyone holding out hope for a PS3 beta release, you may as well put those to rest. But hey, pretty much everyone at this point owns a PC right? And it’s not like the game is going to be compatible only with Windows 7.
