RPGs is the only genre that’s been missing in this generation. When the PlayStation, PlayStation 2, and Gamecube was released in the market, the RPG was a big boom to both North American and Japanese gamers. As we approach the 2010, we can finally say that the RPG genre will make a come back really soon.
In this year’s Tokyo Game Show, there are plenty of RPGs that we can expect in 2010 across all platforms. Let’s take a look:
PS3
– (PS3) White Knight Chronicles (Coming soon in NA)
– (PS3) White Knight Chronicles 2
– (PS3) Final Fantasy XIII
– (PS3) Resonance of Fate
– (PS3) Atelier Rorona (Coming Spring 2010 in NA)
– (PS3) Star Ocean Last Hope International
– (PS3) Nier Replica
PSP
– (PSP) Valkyria Chronicles 2
– (PSP) Last Ranker
– (PSP) Lunar: Silver Star Harmony
– (PSP) Persona 3 Portable
– (PSP) Phantasy Star Portable
– (PSP) God Eater
– (PSP) Kingdom Hearts Birth by Sleep
– (PSP) Disgaea Infinite
360
– (360) Resonance of Fate
– (360) Fable III
– (360) Mass Effect 2
– (360) Nier Gestalt
– (360) Final Fantasy XIII
Wii
– (Wii) Tales of Graces
– (Wii) Fragile: Farewell Ruins of the Moon
DS
– (DS) Dragon Quest VI
– (DS) Tsmumaji
Judging from the list, the PS3 is starting to pick up the genre once again while the PSP gets the most RPG in 2010. Now probably is the good time to get the PSPGo don’t you think?

September 28, 2009 at 9:42 PMThe PS3 list is missing a bunch of games.
It’s missing:
Trinity of Szo by Tecmo/Koei
Last Rebellion by NIS
Trinity Universe (Disgaea/Atelier universes) by NIS
Dot Game heroes
and I assume you should list Tales of Vesparia as well, which while hasn’t been officially announced for NA probably be coming as well.
Since you listed Mass Effect/Fable 3 I’ll assume then that you should at that MMO DC Universe as well.
