SNK Playmore has finally released a patch for The King of Fighters XII…for PS3. The new patch fixes many of the online issues that have plagued this game since launched, and caused it to have lots of less than favorable reviews. According to the official press release, “fundamentally changes the way game data is processed and synchronized during online matches, placing greater importance on the game’s response time and allowing for much smoother play.” This should drastically improve online play and make it, you know, PLAYABLE. SNK went on to say that a patch for the Xbox version will be available “very soon.”
They also made an official apology stating, “strive to improve their system of quality control for future titles.” Let’s just hope they stick to that, and the next game to come from them is much better, being a huge KOF fan, it’s sad to see such a great fighting series have such an abysmal jump into the new generation.
