Surfing around the upcoming Dashboard Update that is due to come out in 2 weeks, there are some nice additions and changes that i’ve noticed so far. One of the things that caught my attention is the ability to clear the cache of the hard drive. Before getting the update installed, that feature was hidden and required a code to be input. By going to the Hard Drive’s Menu, there will be an option where you can delete the HD’s cache.
By clearing the Hard Drive’s cache of your XBOX 360, you are removing all of the title updates that were installed. This feature was added due to some people’s inability to download title updates and dashboard updates. In the new dashboard preview, Microsoft has recommended clearing the cache if you have problems with Xbox Live.
More news and information about the new dashboard update to come soon!

August 3, 2009 at 6:54 PMdirk I am lost why would it be a problem for it to be there. it does no harm it actually helps it run smoother. i delete cashe on my pc all the time to keep my computer running at highest performance. would this not be the same for the 360 since its running off a operating system.

August 4, 2009 at 1:02 AMwhy should it be difficult? Games like oblivion’s performance degrades overtime and they recommend you clear the cache to resolve it. They should also gives us the option to defrag the hard drive.
